De New Zealander Chris Birch (KTM) had built up a big enough lead to maintain his lead on the final day despite attacks from Graham Jarvis (Sherco). What's more, Birch even extended his lead by a few minutes on the competition! Jarvis did finish second ahead of Andreas Lettenbichler, last year's winner. The Red Bull Romiacs once again lived up to its name this year, as less than half of the 165 starters reached the finish after five days of hardship in the Carpathians. Belgian Michel Dumoulin finished seventh in the Expert Single class. Belgian Bull Jean-Paul Vaele finished 20th in the Hobby singles.
