Negaan JM Racing-KTM rider Jordi Tixier left no stone unturned in the competition during the very first race of the European Championship 125cc 2-stroke. Despite the sandy surface, the Lowlanders did not appear to be high flyers in Mantova. Tom Van Iperen was the best Dutchman. The best Belgian was Ostend Motorsport rider Jeffrey Dewulf. With three riders on the final podium, the European Championship 125cc 2-stroke also turned out to be a success for KTM!

Kenny Van Dueren would not enjoy his leading position in the MX2 European Championship for long. The Beringen native crashed this morning in Castelnau-de-Levis during the warm-up and had to give up the rest of the day with a dislocated shoulder. The Slovenian Jernej Irt took the two series victories. Vamo-Suzuki driver Steven Lenoir finished third in the final standings. The young Julien Lieber surprised with a 9th place in the final standings. He did better than big brother Cédric, who finished 17th. Arnaud Wauters managed to score 2 European Championship points, Stijn Blom went home with 1 point. Jens Getteman remained scoreless. Irt is also the new European Championship leader, while Steven Lenoir takes third place. Kenny Van Dueren is now in seventh place in the standings. The European Championship MX2 will now take a 5-week break until May 23. Then the Bulgarian round in Troyan is on the program.

Christophe Descamps is the surprising first leader in the MCLB Inters MX1/MX3 championship. Descamps only had to leave MX2 rider Torpjurn Van Hoe ahead in the first series. Steve Seronval struck back with a series victory in series 2, although that could not prevent “Super Steve” from only 4e appears after round 1 of the championship. Jurgen Wybo took advantage of a misstep by Van Hoe in series 2 to take the provisional lead in the IntersMX2 championship. Jaimy Deleersnijder was twice the strongest at the Inters B.
