CReed has had to contend with Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart throughout his career. Yet he is currently one of the most successful SX riders in history. In his home country of Australia, he is even in the top 5 of the highest earning athletes. This puts him higher than, for example, MotoGP rider Casey Stoner.

When he left for the states after a year of GP racing at the end of 2001, it was already clear that he knew clearly what he wanted to become. Supercross Champion. Reed is a determined rider who will do anything to push himself to the limit. With his fluid but deadly fast style, he managed to compete with legendary riders such as Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart year after year. Last year's rivalry between Reed and Stewart was fought bitterly on the circuit and this year again it seemed as if the two were arch rivals.
The only thing missing from his resume until last year was an outdoor title. Despite stomach problems, Skippy was determined to win this one, and he did. Fuel TV made a documentary about the Australian about his quest for success. You can see the documentary below.
