Valence was not only an important confrontation for the 'big guns'. The ambitious, young wolves of the 85cc were also allowed to prove themselves. Among them a strong Belgian delegation led by Brent Van Doninck. Brent won ahead of the French Barcelo and Do. Other familiar faces were Daymond Martens, Yannick Heylen, Stijn Hofman, Jordi Van Mieghem, Axel Nijs and last but not least Davy Pootjes. The European champion 65cc of 2008 was the only Dutch rider in the 85cc. For Jordi, Axel and Stijn Valence was a great test after a week of training in France with the Flemish Motorsport Future selection.
