EA few thousand motocross fans did not let the bleak winter weather get to them and today they came to the Stedelijk Motorcross Centrum in Lommel. That trust was not disappointed, because the Belgian opening motocross was an animated spectacle. Only thanks to a better second series was Ken De Dycker (3 + 1) able to keep the surprising Jeremy Delincé (1 + 3) at bay. The Swede Tom Söderström, experienced in icy motocross, rode to a great third place. Steve Ramon and another Swede, Richard Sandberg, completed the top five. In the MX2, Joël Roelants (1 + 1) beat Shinray rider Nick Triest (2 + 2) and the Frenchman Axel Alletru. The young Donny Bastemeijer was the first Dutchman with a great fifth place in the MX2 final standings.
Series 1 Inters MX2: Despite the winter conditions, there was no limit for Joël Roelants. JR worked his way to the front and would dominate the rest of the moto. Behind the unapproachable JM Racing-KTM, Nick Triest proved to be faster than Peter Smitka and Donny Bastemeijer.
Series 1 Inters MX1: Home rider Yentel Martens took the holeshot ahead of Jeremy Delincé. The Walloon Yamaha rider quickly took over the torch. Behind the leading duo was Ken De Dycker, Yamaha Van Beers recruit Tom Söderström and Kevin Wouts. Swede Söderström apparently felt good in the snow race and passed De Dyker. Steve Ramon in turn passed Kevin Wouts. Delince would no longer be threatened and won the series ahead of the surprising Söderström and De Dycker.
Series 2 Inters MX2: Belgian MX2 champion Nick Triest took the holeshot this time. Roelants soon joined him. However, Roelants hit the hard Lommel surface a number of times. At one point “Jay R” even made a highsider, leaving the battle at the top open with Klein Kromhof and Axel Alletru in the leading roles. This spectacular round ended with a beautiful finish. Triest started to chase Roelants and fought a duel to the finish. Nick stranded at a mere 3 tenths of a second! The battle for third place was also exciting for a long time. Ceriel Klein Kromhof had to acknowledge his superiority in Alletru.
Series 2 Inters MX1: Mike Vanderstraeten was the quick starter in the second series. Brand new BeTeMo leader Sven Breugelmans entered the riders' park after just one lap. VB Racing-Suzuki driver was able to hold off Delincé for two laps, but then De Waal had enough. De Dycker and Söderstrom also joined in behind Delince. However, in the bend behind the party tent, Delincé lay down and passed Keeno and Söderström. Ultimately, nothing would change. Delincé would finish third ahead of Richard Sandberg, Yentel Martens and Shannon Terreblanche. Steve Ramon, who took no risks on the treacherous surface, finished 7the.
