Ondoubtless everyone has heard of a serious motorcycle crash where the emergency services or bystanders had to remove the victim's helmet. At that point it is not yet known whether or not the victim has a neck or spinal injury. Every movement of the neck is one too many. 'Shock Doctor' has finally found a solution for this.
The 'Eject' is actually based on a 1985 invention by the American John Deagan, who has personally experienced that removing a helmet is not always without consequences. The patented 'Eject' system ensures that the helmet can be removed without the head and neck making unnecessary movements. You place a folded air reservoir at the top between the helmet inner lining with an air hose that is released at the bottom of the helmet. In the event of a fall, air can be blown into the system, causing the reservoir to inflate and gradually push the helmet off the head. The air can be blown in using CO02 under pressure or by a manually operated pump.
The manufacturer is trying hard to promote this system among international federations and, if possible, even make it mandatory. The AMA has already made the 'Eject helmet removal system' mandatory for all professionally licensed SX and MX riders. This system is also mandatory for all pilots in American motorsport, namely the Indy Racing League (IRL). Safety comes first, right? As long as we are diligently looking for a Belgian or Dutch distributor for these progressive products, you can contact us www.shockdoctor.com For more information. We will certainly come back to this later.
