Dhe first night of the Grenoble Supercross, the final of the 'SX Tour' was a tough one for Loic Rombaut. The French Kawasaki rider is also riding the German SX championship for Sturm this winter. Yesterday Rombaut beat Alexandre Rouis (Yamaha) and Fabien Izoird (Suzuki) after Cédric Soubeyras, the winner last weekend in Geneva, crashed.
In the championship standings, Izoird still has to take into account the Italian Davide Degli Esposti tonight. Although Izoird has the best credentials at the moment. The new JM Racing-KTM recruit Jordi Tixier once again won the Junior class, but he also made a name for himself in the open class. Tixier finished eighth. Striking detail: Rombaut will no longer have a permanent starting permit in the MX2 World Championship next year because CLS does not have enough resources to keep three pilots. The young Frenchman (21) had a mixed season, but seems reborn this winter! For next season, Rombaut is aiming for the French MX1 championship, some wildcards in the MX1 and MX3 World Championships and of course the SX tour...
